Busting 5 Fitness Myths

Busting 5 Fitness Myths

Happy New Year!

If you’re ringing in the new year with a fitness or health goal, you’re not alone. About 95% of all New Year’s Resolutions are fitness or health related, so January is all about hitting the gym and developing healthy habits.

It can be hard to distinguish fact from fiction when trying to support your health, since there is so much information out there.

We’re here to help! We want to discuss five popular fitness myths.

Myth #1: All fats and carbs are bad

Not all carbs and fats are created equally, and you still need complex carbs and healthy fats in moderation to sustain your energy and support vital body functions.

Without them, your body may resort to using protein and muscles stores, instead. Two pieces of wheat toast with butter or avocado is a great way to get your carbs and fats (much better than two doughnuts and a tall Frappuccino).

Just keep all your food groups in moderation.

Myth #2: Consuming too much protein and/or lifting weights will make you bulky

Many people may try to avoid eating protein or lifting weights so they don't "bulk up". But this is a myth that some women may think

Protein is vital, however, for more than just muscle mass. Protein is in your bones, cartilage, skin, hair, and nails. Even your body also uses protein to repair tissue!

Plus, building muscle through strength exercise, like weightlifting, can strengthen your bones, help with weight loss, and improve your body composition.

So, pick up a set of weights a couple times a week; your body will thank you.

Myth #3: Exercise is the most important factor in losing weight

Exercise can certainly help you lose weight, but it's only a small part of the wight loss equation. Your weight is determined 20% by exercise and 80% by what you eat. How much you run your body's engine isn't as important as what you put in it.

If you want to change your weight, change what you put in your body. Focus on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins.

Of course, exercise is still important. Exercise supports a healthy heart, can keep your stress levels low, and helps build muscle and burn calories. If you're only paying attention to your exercise, though, and not your eating habits, you won't see nearly as much progress.

Myth #4: If you’re hungry, you’re losing weight

This myth has some basis, since a calorie deficit (more calories expended than calories eaten) will generally lead to weight loss. Intermittent fasting can also be an effective way to lose weight, after you consult with your doctor.

However, starving yourself or frequently going without food for 24 hours or longer is not a sustainable way to lose weight. Your body may go into "starvation mode" and hold on to more calories in an effort to preserve energy, since your body is built to survive.

If you're planning to lose weight and keep those pounds off, do it in a way you can keep up long term!

Myth #5: Supplements can’t support your overall well-being or body transformation

Supplements can support your well-being and body transformation! Even the most dedicated fitness or health enthusiasts need a bit of help every now and then. Getting the perfect amount of nutrients to support your health and fitness goals from diet alone can be challenging.

Using supplements alongside a healthy diet is a great way to ensure you are meeting your daily nutrient requirements. Always check with a healthcare professional before starting a new supplement regimen to avoid potential adverse health effects.

Supplements serve a multifaceted purpose, addressing the depletion of essential nutrients during intense physical activity, enhancing overall performance through substances like creatine or caffeine, providing a convenient nutritional boost, and meeting specific dietary needs, particularly for individuals with restrictions such as vegetarians or vegans.

Choose Vanilla or Chocolate for nurture, reward and delight your body after an intense workout. Moreover, each serving gives 20 grams of protein in a very time saving and delicious way.

Of course, you can get 20 grams of protein from other sources like 200 grams of Greek yogurt or by cooking 85 grams of chicken breast, 100 grams of salmon, or 140 grams of lentils..., but with Pro-TF you got the 4Life option to avoid cooking and waiting for digestion to do the job and simply get the extra protein need at the moment you need it.

It contains 3 exclusive and valuable plant extracts: citrus fruit extract (Citrus paradisi, Citrus sinensis, and Citrus aurantium), Coleus forskohlii root extract, African mango seed extract, and dihydrocapsiate.

Did you know that Citrus auratium and Coleus forskohlii contribute to regulate fat and lipids metabolism? Also, ginger has stimulating and tonic properties that contribute to the resistance against fatigue.

Optimize the time you dedicate to transforming your body and include an ally in your wellness and training routine.

Glutamine Prime — Do you focus on keeping your muscle mass? Do you need to boost the antioxidant mechanisms of your body?

When we exercise, our muscle fibers suffer and a certain amount of protein —which is valuable to our muscles— gets destroyed.

L-glutamine and arginine are two amino acids with muscle-maintenance effects. Our body generates lipoic acid and N-acetylcysteine, which create energy and have antioxidant mechanisms.

Energy Go Stix — Formulated to help you power through your busy day, giving you a boost of natural energy without the spike and crash provided by most conventional energy drinks.

Rich in natural energy boosters and fortifying nutrients, including 4Life Transfer Factor, Energy Go Stix contains plant extracts like Guarana, for mental performance, fat metabolism, concentration and alertness.
